The Jaguar I-PACE is a sleek luxury SUV that runs on an electric powertrain. What kind of performance does it offer for drivers near Parsippany, Morristown, and Newark? To show you what it's capable of, Jaguar Parsippany looks over the Jaguar I-PACE MPG.

Jaguar I-PACE: MPGe & Driving Range

The 2020 Jaguar I-PACE can travel far on just a single charge. It has an EPA-estimated driving range of up to 234 miles.[i] To provide you with that kind of range, it runs on a 90-kilowatt lithium-ion battery and two Permanent Magnet Synchronous Electric Motors.

This combination delivers an EPA-estimated 80 MPGe city and 72 MPGe highway.[ii] With one motor up front and one located in the back, it also features a smooth, balanced drive.  It's easy to maximize your fuel economy too. Just switch Eco Mode on, and your SUV will make some subtle adjustments that'll conserve power.

Charging the Jaguar I-PACE

Whether you're on a road trip, running errands, or taking a joyride, charging your Jaguar I-PACE is easy. You can always plug it in at home or visit a public charging station while you're out. It's compatible with several charging levels.

For example, if you're using a 50-kilowatt charger, your battery can charge up to 80% in under 90 minutes. If you're in a rush, you can use a 100-kilowatt charging cable instead. It'll have your battery up to 80% in less than an hour. There's also a level 3 charger that can get you back on the road in under 45 minutes.

The I-PACE also offers some technology that helps your battery last longer. There's a 7-kilowatt on-board charger as well as an Enhanced Brake Regeneration System. It takes the kinetic energy that comes from stopping and converts it into electricity.

Aerodynamic Design of the I-PACE

The electric powertrain is just the beginning. The Jaguar I-PACE features a flow-enhanced design that makes it a highly aerodynamic SUV. The streamlined body stretches 184.3 inches long, 84.2 inches wide, and 61.3 inches tall. It has a low drag coefficient and curb weight of 4,784 pounds.

The design starts with a wide front grille. It's bordered by a couple of sharp intake vents. A wide air intake is also located in the middle of the hood. To cool the batteries and improve the vehicle's airflow, it was designed with Active Vanes, too. The rest of the design continues to focus on airflow by featuring a shark fin antenna and a roofline spoiler.

It's also prepared to cut through the air when you're cruising at high speeds, too. The available Active Suspension with Adaptive Dynamics lowers the vehicle by 0.4 inches when you reach speeds over 65 MPH.

Jaguar I-PACE: Performance Specs

Underneath that aerodynamic design, this SUV offers the kind of drive that you'd find in a sports car. The 2020 Jaguar I-PACE can produce 394 total system horsepower and 512 lb-ft of torque. With that kind of power, it can accelerate quickly and go from 0 to 60 MPH in only 4.5 seconds. It's even capable of reaching speeds up to 124 MPH.

The I-PACE is still a versatile SUV, though, and runs on a drivetrain that's ready for anything. All-wheel drive comes standard and includes All Surface Progress Control and Low Traction Launch. These can help you maintain traction on slick roads. It can even adjust to your current driving conditions with Adaptive Surface Response.
